The collection was established in 2012. It consists of postcards and postal cards created between the end of the 19th century and the 1960s with various motifs depicted. They record ships, landscapes, panoramas of cities on the eastern Adriatic, monuments, political and social events, individual and group portraits, scenes from everyday life in Dalmatia and other locations, the navy of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes/Yugoslavia and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, war and post-war related events along with the First and Second World Wars. The Collection is dominated by black and white photo postcards from the first half of the 20th century, from local and foreign publishers, some of which were printed for propaganda or humanitarian purposes during the war. Postcards with reproductions of paintings by famous Austro-Hungarian marine painters Johann Seits, Alexander Kircher and Harry Heusser stand out from this valuable collection.
